Jim Mott will be discussing the results of his latest project, Life Studies, along with related paintings from previous projects in Rochester, Ferguson Missouri, and South Central LA.

His current Life Studies exhibit includes paintings and stories based on collaborative sketch outings with young mother from NW Rochester, Sonja Rosario Belliard, and representing places of significance to her life.

Life Studies received 2021 NYSCA Individual Artist Grant funding and is a pilot project for an initiative that involves the building of meaningful connections with people of diverse backgrounds through a series of conversations, sketching sessions and the development of paintings from collaboratively-sourced subject matter.
