The encaustic photo transfer process involves using a mixture of beeswax and damar resin to transfer a laser printed image onto a wood surface.

This class will begin with a brief description of encaustic paints and go over the necessary safety precautions for using the heating tools required. Students will learn how to prepare a wood panel with encaustic medium before transferring their image onto the wax. Stock photos will be provided, however, if you would like to use your own image, please e-mail the instructor at JeannetteM@gmail.com by March 1st in order to have it ready for the class. Please dress appropriately, we will be working with melted wax.

No experience necessary! Please bring any questions, willingness to learn, and a little patience!

Registration will be limited to 10 participants, and tickets are $25 each.
