“Don’t Box Me In” is an ongoing collection of painting’s by Collaborative Residency Alumni, Caleb Sarvis. This body of works critiques postmodernism through the creation of visual narratives. Each piece is unique and aims to begin a dialogue with the viewer, by communicating emotions, memories, contemporary issues and subjects of interest with individuals of all different backgrounds.

Caleb deepens this idea of communication by using language itself to address controversial topics such as political division, anthropogenic pollution and nomophobia. His ultimate goal is to spark conversation with viewers, creating a bridge to share stories and surface new thoughts and emotions, unique to each individual, creating a space to share freely without experiencing categorization.
