As the crows follow one another in a rhythmic dance, creating waves of black butterflies through the sky, Beneath them, their monsters seek partners of their own—forming an intricate web of beings, each connected through the creatures they carry within. These monsters are drawn to one another, twining and swirling, flowing and spilling into the world. As the crows dance, the trees are invited to join. The trees and their monsters and the flowers and theirs—all entwined, bodies and souls merging into a singular, pulsing existence.

Humans rarely set their monsters free. I have let mine out. It tumbles down hills, circles the trees, and meets the crows, the bluejays, and the golden sun that shines behind them. It has seen more of the world than I have yet without it, my own vision is incomplete.

Nexus is an attempt to visualize these monsters—their language, their dances, their presence, and their essence. Nexus is a reflection of my bond with my monster, and how it has introduced me to the world.
